Tzohar and Teen Beit Midrash are the teen education programs

of Ohr Kodesh Congregation in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The educational programs at Ohr Kodesh Congregation are dedicated to creating a community of students and families who are committed to lifelong Jewish learning, to relationships with other Jews, and to caring for those around them.  We inspire a love of Judaism by engaging our students in passionate, interactive learning.  Our community of learners — experienced faculty, invested parents, and students of all ages — walk side by side as we navigate our own Jewish paths.

We believe that every student has a unique voice to contribute to the legacy of Jewish tradition. Students will study text from original source material, be challenged to provide thoughtful and modern responses to ancient and contemporary texts. We believe in twenty-first century modalities of learning, and encourage students to grapple with the world around them through a Jewish lens.

Tzohar and Teen Beit Midrash are is directed by Cantor Hinda Eisen Labovitz, cantor of Ohr Kodesh Congregation, under the umbrella of the Alvin Browdy Religious School.
