Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Alvin Browdy Religious School at Ohr Kodesh Congregation!  In the ABRS, we are committed to shepherding each child on a journey toward committed Jewish adulthood in the context of the larger society in which they live. With personalized instruction, project-based learning, and engagement of multiple intelligences, our program is forward-thinking and able to cater to any child’s needs.

We appreciate that making the choice of religious education for your child can be challenging. Whether you’re considering day school, other religious schools, delaying the start of religious education until your child is ready, or ready to sign up for ABRS, Ohr Kodesh is here to support your family. Ohr Kodesh’s new holistic approach to Jewish youth education, the outcome of a two-year exploration process under the Congregational Education for the 21st Century initiative, provides a buffet of experiences from which to choose: formal instruction, field trips, Hebrew immersion, informal camp-style programming, bar-mitzvah training, among others. We are committed to providing educational experiences that suit the needs of students at every age and stage, from our eldest members to newborns.

Please know that my door is always open; as you approach the decision about your child’s religious education for 2019-2020, Feel free to engage me and the other members of Ohr Kodesh’s clergy and staff as sounding boards and guides.

Best wishes for a learning-filled year!

Biyedidut/In Friendship,

Cantor Hinda Eisen Labovitz
